How does spam filtering work?

All email received by our servers is scanned using a wide range of heuristics, proprietary rules, and advanced Bayesian analysis. Each user can set the sensitivity of their own spam filter based on their preference and they can check email identified as Junk Mail whenever they want to.

How can I check my Junk Mail?

You can view any blocked messages by viewing your Junk Mail folder on our web site or with Outlook through IMAP. You choose how long to keep Junk Mail around so you can check it whenever you like.

How does virus filtering work?

All email received by our EnterpriseMail servers is scanned for viruses. Messages with viruses are cleaned before they reach your Inbox. Today, over 90% of all computer viruses come through email so it is important to protect yourself. Our virus definitions are updated continuously, so we have information on the most recent viruses as soon as it is released.

Does EnterpriseMail work with my handheld PDA or Blackberry?

EnterpriseMail works with any email capable device which supports POP, IMAP, or SMTP. Most PDA/Smartphones work well with EnterpriseMail, we even have a low bandwidth skin for the website that will make your the website load faster over wireless connections.  Our service also integrates with Blackberry users through by using BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service.) Whether its time-sensitive e-mail or just managing your inbox while out of the office, BIS can be the solution to meet your needs.

Does EnterpriseMail work with Microsoft Exchange?

Yes. EnterpriseMail works on its own or with your existing email server. Our service works with virtually any SMTP based email system such as Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, etc.  With EnterpriseMail, your email will be pre-scanned for viruses and spam before it reaches your server. EnterpriseMail will also automatically hold onto mail in the event that your server goes down and forward the mail again when your server comes back up. EnterpriseMail Gateway is the easiest and most effective way to instantly block spam and viruses from getting to your entire company, no matter how many email accounts you manage.

I like Microsoft Outlook. Does EnterpriseMail make me use some other program?

EnterpriseMail works seamlessly with Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Goldmine and virtually any email reader out there, including handheld devices such as Blackberry and PocketPC. It works with Microsoft Entourage for Macintosh. We have full support for Qualcomm Eudora, too. Tell me about Enterprise WebMail.

Our webmail client allows you send and receive mail, set your vacation messages, upload and download your address book, manage junk mail, and quickly search for messages. Administrators use the management interface to create new mailboxes, groups, forwards, and manage user accounts. Webmail connects to the same folders as Outlook, including your Inbox and IMAP folders.

May I use EnterpriseMail to send spam?

No.

What about backups?

We backup daily. We also offer an optional logging service to automatically copy every inbound and outbound email for archival purposes. Our mail servers are highly redundant and can be taken off-line without affecting email services. Our disaster recovery plans ensure high-availability, high-density hosting. What about your hosting facilities?
